The Finnish metal legend WALTARI returns to the Czech Republic as part of the tour for their latest album Nations’ Neurosis! These musical chameleons, who have enjoyed enormous popularity here for nearly 40 years, will perform on March 20 at Prague’s Palác Akropolis. Don’t miss this original show!

Waltari were formed in 1986 in Helsinki, Finland, and built their music on a fearless fusion of genres. From the very beginning, they refused to be confined by traditional metal boundaries and incorporated elements of electronics, techno rhythms, pop, punk and even classical music into their sound. As a result, they gradually established themselves as one of the most original metal projects in Europe.

The breakthrough came in the 1990s with the album Torcha! and later Big Bang, where their ability to combine heavy riffs with dance beats and catchy melodies fully emerged. Critics praised not only their courage to experiment, but also the fact that Waltari managed to maintain a cohesive sound despite their extreme genre diversity. The band soon gained fans across Europe, including the Czech Republic.

In Prague, Waltari will present their latest album Nations’ Neurosis, once again proving that they have never been a band to follow rules. The record showcases their unique mix of musical freedom, bold experimentation and unfiltered artistic expression. At the heart of Waltari’s musical journey stands Kärtsy Hatakka, the band’s mastermind and driving force. Responsible for lead and backing vocals, bass, programming, keyboards and percussion, Hatakka faced a deeply personal storm while creating the album — losing his mother while watching the world slip further into chaos and division. The frustration and emotional turmoil of that period resonate through every note of Nations’ Neurosis, making it one of the most urgent and thought-provoking works in WALTARI’s history.

PVRS is a Belgian post-doom / atmospheric sludge / post-metal duo founded in 2023 by two musicians from Bruges / Brussels: Jean-Pierre Mottin and Twan Landrin.

Their music combines heavy, slow riffs with melodic passages and intense emotions, creating a depressive yet hypnotic atmosphere. The project avoids traditional metal approaches and instead focuses on texture, contrast and depth of sound.

Jolly Joker and the P.B.U. (Plastic Beatles of the Universe) are a true legend of the Czech club scene, bursting into post-revolution Czechoslovakia with the energy of a runaway train. Led by charismatic bassist and visionary Petr Kumandžas, the band defined the Czech crossover sound of the 1990s – a wild mix of funk, hard rock, punk and psychedelia. Their debut album Heavy, Happy, Helpless (1992) remains a genre milestone, proving that Czech music can be bold, world-class and rhythmically uncompromising. Even decades later they maintain the status of a cult band, relying on raw sound, animalistic groove and the ability to turn every concert into an untamed ride where genre boundaries simply don’t exist.
