Oker is an experimental acoustic quartet that focuses on combining improvised and composed ways of expression. Their music combines finely tuned tonalities, deconstructed grooves, acoustic noise and other sonic events while drawing on their conventional instrumentation. Textures in gradual transformations coexist with sensitive and spontaneous gestures to create a varied but cohesive musical ecosystem that can be breezy or dense, dry or blooming. A minimalist or stoic approach to sound production is an overarching and recurring principle in Oker's music, and this principle sets their sound apart from most production in the field of improvised music or free jazz. Oker have toured Europe extensively and released two albums – Husene våre er museer, released on SOFA music in 2018, and Susurrus, released on Shhpuma in 2021.

Fredrik Rasten – guitar; Torstein Lavik Larsen – trumpet; Adrian Myhr – double bass; Jan Martin Gismervik – drums
