info Katatonia, one of the most distinctive and respected bands in the realm of melancholic metal, is returning to Prague as part of their upcoming European tour. Since their death/doom metal beginnings in the 1990s, this band has undergone a remarkable musical evolution, leading them to a unique sound that blends progressive rock, doom, post-metal, and alternative elements. Their songs are meticulously crafted musical landscapes full of emotions, contrasts, and profound lyrics that reflect existential themes and introspective reflections. Following the triumphant success of Sky Void of Stars (2023), an album that captivated critics and fans alike and dominated European music charts, the band embarks on yet another grand tour. The evening will be complemented by two bands that, while distinct in style, offer a perfectly compatible musical experience. Swedish band Evergrey is among the key figures of progressive metal. Since their formation in 1995, they have released fourteen studio albums. Their music is characterized by a dense atmosphere, the emotive vocal delivery of Tom S. Englund, and complex, multi-layered arrangements. Meanwhile, the Italian-American project Klogr merges alternative metal with progressive and post-grunge elements. Their sound is strongly influenced by modern alternative rock while maintaining a dark and introspective atmosphere. The event is organized by Obscure Promotion. |
