info 16th international fine-art symposium „Ticho – Stille“ (Silence) The traditional meeting of Czech and German fine-artists was organised in Zubrnice in the week from 31st June till 5th July. Eleven artists were working in the open space on their jobs with a common theme SILENCE. Each of them could have chosen their own attitude to the complicated theme and have worked with their favourite technique and material. The magic of such events is in the diversity of the individual perspectives of the authors who have only limited time and conditions to deal with the collective task. After a week of work the artists have displayed their works in the Zubrnice church St. Mary Magdalene, where we can see them till 27th July. We can find there paintings by Dagmar Čechová, Alžběta Müllerová and Vlasta Rydlová, a stone sculpture by Jürgen Horn, wooden sculptures by Karl Linde, sculptures from combination of materials by Vladimír Kovařík, special technique by Norbert Sötz and photography by Richard Vodička, Vladimír Murtin, Alena Zíková and Pavel Rydl. Someone looked at silence as an enforced phenomenon, however most of the authors looked at it as desired or longed-for – as people say silence heals. The natural cycles have always been automatic, without any fuss. On the exhibition we could have learned that if we were silent for a while we would hear our own heart. We should listen to it closely because we are part of nature and we all have the moral codex deep inside us. Exhibition organiser: SUKUS; project supported by: Czech-German future fund (Česko-německý fond budoucnosti), State culture fund (Státní fond kultury ČR), Art Frame Palác Akropolis and other sponsors. www.sukus.wz.cz http://fb.cz/de/was-wir-fordern/kultur/16-internationales-kunstler-symposium-stille-ticho |
