info By the time he was 14 in the late 1980s, Adam Holý (b. 1974) was already moving among music circles, taking photos. He counts among his close friends bands such as Rány těla, Michaels Unkle, and Meadow and was well acquainted with a number of one-time clubs: Mamklub, Zoufalci, Mish mash, Bunkr, squat Zlatá lod’ (where he also lived from time to time), roxy, acid party at Slovanské dům. All of these influences led to refined, depressed taste and an individual style that helped to determine his visual look. From these same early experiences he began to work with the magazines Hype and Živel, and later Blok, Dolce vita, Creativity – New York and others. His photos effortlessly flirt along the boundaries between fashion and erotic photography, as artfully staged portraits with a retro tint that clearly illustrate the modern day rock n’ roll scene. Graphic alterations of the panels were done by Philipp Danes. |
