Will Dušan Vlk sell out Palác Akropolis again? One of the hottest Slovak
rappers returns to Prague. Expect a night oscillating between extravagance,
digital melancholy, and club-driven rave impulses – courtesy of the hyperpop duo
ph1l & sugoi kimono.
Dušan Vlk
Is it the year of the dragon – and the mulleted wolf? Last year, Dušan Vlk
sold out Palác Akropolis. This year, he's back with a brand-new album
that plays like a personal sonic diary, with each track reflecting a different
month of the year. A standout voice in Slovak rap, Vlk fully sheds the
remnants of corporate life, awakens from personal lethargy, and creates rap that
speaks even to those who’ve never considered themselves fans of the genre.
A sensitive baller, he’s hitting the mark with every new track and
show. Come witness what rap for alternative kids sounds like in 2025.
ph1l & sugoi kimono
The duo ph1l and sugoi kimono are among the current representatives of Slovak
hyperpop. Their joint performance is packed with glitchy beats, futuristic
synthetic sounds, and emotional vocals. Musically, they blur genre boundaries
and push their limits. Each show is crafted as a thoughtful audiovisual
experience.
ph1l leans into cold autotune, industrial distortion, and shifting flows with
touches of nostalgia and mysticism, while sugoi kimono brings in heavier bass
and personal lyrics that balance between rawness and romance. Distinct styling,
playfulness, and strong audience engagement form the core of their performances,
injecting fresh energy into the scene.
The PULZ series at Palác Akropolis is curated by music journalist and
radio host Vojtěch Tkáč. The evening is presented in collaboration with
Akropolis Underground.
