The iconic legend that linked Brazil to the Anglo-Saxon world

Hailed by Down Beat magazine as a „Brazilian national treasure“, legendary Brazilian singer, guitarist and songwriter Joyce Moreno has over 400 songs and more than 30 recordings to her credit. Her exceptional musical signature, combining the best of bossa nova and modern jazz and pop elements with traditional Brazilian samba techniques, appeals to audiences around the world. Her life's artistic career has ranged from collaborations with Brazilian legends Robert Menscal and Milton Nascimento and duets with Jon Hendricks to Annie Lennox and a remix of hip hop's Black Eyed Peas. In Prague, she will present her album Natureza, which she recorded in 1977 but released only two years ago.

In 2000, Joyce Moreno received her first nomination in the Latin Grammy Awards in the Best Brazilian Music CD category with her album Astronauta: Canções de Elis. Four years later, her samba „A Banda Maluca“ received a nomination for Best Portuguese Language Song. In 2005, the CD Banda Maluca was nominated in the Best Brazilian Album category. Joyce received a fourth nomination, also for Best Brazilian CD, in 2010 with her album Slow Music.
