Friday 7. 3.
info The Spectaculare festival continues on 7 March with another musical adventure that will stir not only the body but also the soul. For the first time in the Czech Republic, the Akropolis Palace will present two distinctive faces of the modern electronic scene – Sound of Fractures from Great Britain and Italian multi-instrumentalist Lowtopic. Both are not afraid to combine club beats with mood-forming atmospheres, ambient surfaces and a touch of post-rock emotionality. If you like discovering new names, you shouldn't miss this Spectaculare event. Get ready for an evening that will take you on a journey to a land of memories, dreams and strong emotions. British DJ and producer Jamie Reddington aka Sound of Fractures says his music is like a beacon for people to go to when they need to feel something strong. He gives it the genre label „emotional electronic music“ and takes inspiration from things in ordinary life like family, friends and honest connections with other people. There is also a line of nostalgia running through the recordings, which can be seen in his music videos. His birth certificate was issued by British club culture, hip hop and soul. He cites Sound of Fractures classics such as Massive Attack, Jamie xx, Burial, Frank Ocean and MJ Cole as his biggest influences. In addition, his childhood was accompanied by reggae and northern soul, which his parents played at home. He's been releasing music since 2019, with the breakthrough single Real Friends featuring a sultry garage beat and Burial-esque vocal snippets. The track has nearly two million listens on Spotify. This June, Sound of Fractures released its first full-length album, Scenes, in an unusual way. He asked fans to send him their favourite photos of memories from their lives and then he transformed the mood of them into songs. „The music goes beyond sound; it connects to the memories and emotions it evokes,“ he says of the creative process. This, in turn, is rooted in the approach that Sound of Fractures has professed from the beginning. For him, songwriting is „building worlds,“ in the same sense that worlds are built by computer game designers or writers. The tool is strong emotional connections that fans can relate to. „In today's digital age, music is not just a product; it's a whole world that fans should try to engage with and feel part of,“ says Reddington, inviting us into his world. The second live set on March 7 will be Francesco Bacci aka Lowtopic, a multi-instrumentalist from Genoa, Italy. He has a remarkable musical history. First, he toured Europe in the last decade with his successful hardcore-punk band 1000 Degrees. When they broke up, he went on to form the indie-rock quintet Ex-Otago, which is still playing today and is one of the most successful Italian bands of recent years. In his spare time, however, Bacci releases dreamy electronic music that mixes club beats with ethereal samples under the banner of his solo project Lowtopic. Bacci got into electronic music after becoming a father and needing to spend more time at home. He began to compose loops, beats and improvise in a small bedroom studio, perhaps that's why his tracks have a strangely homely feel. Lowtopic's debut EP, 2021's Maria, was dedicated to his eldest daughter, and a year later he released his first full-length, Maddalena. Lowtopic is also the head of the label Unsouth Records and the BOEM festival, which brings contemporary electronic music to Genoa in June. He also managed to finish his PhD in architectural history. His music is as layered as his many interests, but mostly a warm human heart beats behind the beats and samples. |
