Get ready for an unforgettable night of innovative sounds, visual magic and an immersive 3D/AV show. Max Cooper, the world-renowned electronic music pioneer, is preparing the release of his new album On Being and will present it together with a new visual show at Spectaculare festival. With the upcoming album and 3D/AV live show, Cooper plans to take his work to the next level. He is reversing the established format where the artist draws inspiration from within himself and gives vent to the influences of his surroundings, the thoughts of others, including inspiration coming directly from the audience. Prague's MeetFactory is undoubtedly in for another intense combination of emotional electronic music, breathtaking visuals and a deep symbiosis of music and art.

Max Cooper

A prominent personality of the world electronic scene and a doctor of computational biology in one person, British producer and audiovisual artist Max Cooper is used to combining different worlds in his work. He pays homage to the sound of Jon Hopkins, the cool nostalgia of Ólafur Arnalds, the poetry of Sigur Rós and the endless ambient passages of Aphex Twin, but his music is utterly distinctive. On March 5, Max Cooper will be at MeetFactory with his new upcoming album On Being, which will be released a month before the show in February 2025.

Max Cooper is also the first contemporary electronic musician to perform at the ancient Acropolis Theatre in Athens, and one of the first group of musicians to produce in Dolby Atmos. In 2012, Resident Advisor ranked his DJ performance as one of the 20 best electronic concerts of the year, and Beatport awarded him the fifth place of the Best Artist of 2012. His 2014 debut album Human has already attracted a lot of attention, with Clash magazine describing it as „sumptuous and stunningly beautiful“. Cooper then had the record remixed into a pair of EPs, Inhuman One and Inhuman Two. For over 15 years, Cooper has explored the intersections between art and science through music, collaboration and his label Mesh, using installations, performances, immersive experiences, online media, music videos and live events.

„I want to promote the acceptance of electronic music as an art form like any other. Bringing electronic music and abstract audiovisual projects into concert halls, museums and galleries is liberating – the art world opens the door to communication in ways not possible elsewhere.“

Cooper's forthcoming album On Being, which explores the „desperate experience of being,“ is his tenth studio album. It was two years in the making, gathering thousands of anonymous quotes to use as creative fuel. It's Cooper's first attempt to use listeners' experiences as inspiration for his music, rather than trying to influence listeners' experiences with his music.
