info E Converso is a band formed in 2011 by four talented musicians of the emerging generation. Saxophonist Michal Wróblewski describes the ensemble as genre-fluid and freely improvisational: “We explore improvisation in all its possible forms. Our music blends influences from the New York downtown scene and free improvisation.” E Converso works with mood, chance, and emotion in a way that makes their formally flexible compositions sound different every night. With dynamic, energetic music, a distinctive approach, and a touch of humor, the band challenges musical conventions. Since its inception, the ensemble has regularly performed at concerts and festivals across the Czech Republic and abroad (Paris Jazz Club, Brno Jazz Fest, Are you Free?, Near, Hevhetia Fest Košice, United Islands, Stimul Festival, Živá Ulice in Plzeň, Žižkov Meets Jazz, Slánské Jazzové Dny, Jazz Goes to Town…). At the Stimul Festival, the band opened for Colin Stetson, and at Jazz Goes to Town, they performed before the trio of Brotzmann – Swell – Nilssen-Love. In January 2014, the group released its critically acclaimed debut album Conspiracy Theories. In March 2018, their second album Artistic Suicide / Radical Creativity was released by the same label, recorded live at various concerts. In the fall of 2022, they released their third, studio album Pásla Milá Satana. E Converso is regarded as one of the most progressive jazz projects in the Czech Republic, and their performances are always a remarkable experience. Line-up: Michal Wróblewski – saxophone, Vladimír Micenko – bass, Jan Pisklák – guitar, Jan Chalupa – drums |
