Kalle return to Prague after three years to perform at Palác Akropolis — a concert that aspires to be more than just another stop on a tour map. The Prague comeback of one of the most distinctive Czech alternative bands of the past decade is an exceptional occasion, one that should not be missed by anyone drawn to music created out of inner necessity rather than immediate effect.

Kalle, the songwriting duo of Veronika Zemanová and David Zeman, have long been regarded as one of the most respected projects on the Czech music scene. Their sound draws from slowcore, trip hop and alternative pop, yet it is never constrained by genre boundaries. Electronic textures, darker rock undertones and a minimalist approach to dynamics create a space in which emotions are given time to unfold. Their songs are marked by patience, focus and a rare ability to let silence speak with the same weight as sound.

From their debut Live from the Room (2014), through Saffron Hills (2017), to their most recent album Under The Black Moss (2022), Kalle have continued to evolve without losing their distinctive voice. It is the third record, awarded both the Anděl and Apollo prizes, that fully confirms their ability to transform darker moods into music that feels less heavy than cleansing. This is music that does not demand attention, yet quietly remains under the skin.

Kalle’s live performances are not about display, but about presence and concentration. The relationship between Veronika and David—both human and musical—forms the foundation of the band’s strength. On stage, their songs unfold with an understated yet profound intensity, creating a space where listeners are invited to pause, breathe and truly listen.
