info E Converso, formed in 2011, brings together four outstanding musicians of the younger generation. Saxophonist Michal Wróblewski describes the group as genre-open and freely improvisational. “We work with improvisation in every possible way. We combine influences from the New York downtown scene and free improvisation.” E Converso approaches mood, chance and emotion in such a way that its formally open compositions can – and do – sound completely different from one performance to the next. Through their dynamic and energetic music, distinctive sound and subtle sense of humour, the band continually challenges musical conventions. Since its inception, the ensemble has performed regularly at clubs and festivals across the Czech Republic and abroad, including Paris Jazz Club, Brno Jazz Fest, Are You Free?, Near, Hevhetia Fest Košice, United Islands, Stimul Festival, Živá Ulice, Žižkov Meets Jazz, Slánské Jazzové Dny and Jazz Goes to Town. At Stimul Festival, the band performed before Colin Stetson, while at Jazz Goes to Town they shared the bill with the trio of Peter Brötzmann, Steve Swell and Paal Nilssen-Love. In January 2014, the group released its critically acclaimed debut album Conspiracy Theories. This was followed in March 2018 by a second album, Artistic Suicide / Radical Creativity, recorded live, and in autumn 2022 by their third studio release, Pásla Milá Satana. Today, E Converso is widely regarded as one of the most progressive jazz projects in the Czech Republic, with performances that consistently offer a unique and memorable live experience. Line-up:
