Nina Kohout

Singer, songwriter, and producer Nina Kohout studied at the prestigious BRIT School in London, where artists like Adele and Amy Winehouse also attended. In 2020, she won the Discovery of the Year award at the Radio Head Awards, and at the beginning of 2022, she released her debut EP Pandemonium, which received excellent reviews from both domestic and international media, including the British radio station BBC. 'Moonlight', one of the songs on Nina's EP, was named Song Of The Day by the American radio station KEXP. Since 2023, the young artist has released three tracks from her upcoming debut album, which is set to be released on October 24, 2024, under the Deadred Records label. The album Gentle Autopsy will be accompanied by an autumn tour, which will include concerts not only in Slovak cities but also in England and the Palác Akropolis club in Prague. For the first time, Nina's sonic explorations will be complemented by a visual component during the concerts, in the form of projections created under the direction of Natália Portíková and Jakub Žanony as part of Nina's residency at the Palác Akropolis.

In her music, she blends the mysterious tones of ancient Slovak folklore, classical music, and the freshness of dark electronics, pushing the boundaries of musical convention, engaging in a constant dialogue between invasive horror and delicate purity.

Never Sol

The artistic alias of Sara Vondraskova, a musician, composer, and producer, who focuses primarily on combining vocals with synthesizers. Her approach is centered on deconstructing forms, driven by rough, noisy, sharp sounds with dark, harsh drone elements. She explores the relationship between the fragility and massiveness of sound, considering time and its manipulation as a crucial aspect of her composition process.

As Never Sol, she creates melancholic compositions built on layered synth soundscapes, dark melodies enveloped in heavy reverb, and rich yet delicate vocals. Her music melts into drone surfaces but cuts deeply with distorted and noisy elements. A strong connection to songwriting, intricate chord progressions, synths, and voice form the cornerstones of her musical output. Over the past year, she began performing and improvising live with modular synthesizers, which allows her to deconstruct and refresh her classical approach to songwriting.

This concert is supported by Liveurope. The first EU-wide initiative to support concert clubs in their efforts to host concerts by emerging European artists. Liveurope is co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union.
