info

The legendary Czech band Flamengo celebrates an incredible 60th anniversary in 2026. The band was founded in 1966, primarily initiated by drummer and later manager Přemysl Černý. Early lead vocal duties were mainly shared by Viktor Sodoma and Petr Novák. Guitarist Pavel Fořt was already one of the founding members at the time and remains part of the band to this day.

After Petr Novák left the group in 1967, Flamengo shifted towards blues and soul, led by singer Karel Kahovec. This line-up remained active until 1969. The following period marked Flamengo’s golden era, with Vladimír Mišík joining as lead vocalist. The iconic line-up of Vladimír Mišík, Vladimír “Guma” Kulhánek, Pavel Fořt, Jan Kubík, Ivan Khunt and Jaroslav “Erno” Šedivý recorded and released the album Kuře v hodinkách in 1972 – widely regarded as the most important Czech rock album of all time, featuring remarkable lyrics by poet Josef Kainar.

Flamengo Reunion Session builds directly on this golden era. The project is led by two original members, Pavel Fořt (guitar) and Vladimír “Guma” Kulhánek (bass), joined by Honza Holeček (Hammond B3, vocals), Jiří “Zelí” Zelenka (drums, vocals) and Vladimír “Boryš” Secký (saxophone, flute, vocals).

With its distinctive blues-rock sound, original members and a repertoire centred on Kuře v hodinkách alongside other original and cover songs, Flamengo Reunion Session promises an authentic and powerful experience of the legendary band. The anniversary concert will be exceptional in atmosphere and enriched by special guests closely connected to Flamengo: Karel Kahovec, Norbi Kovács and Michal Kolouch Daněk.
