SHARPE Select returns to Palác Akropolis after a year! Following last year’s successful pilot edition, created through a collaboration between Palác Akropolis and the respected Slovak showcase festival and conference SHARPE, we will once again present several exciting artists in Prague.

Akropolis will once again open all three of its stages and fill them with some of the most current sounds from the European independent music scene. Expect an evening that crosses genres — from dancefloor energy and experimental sounds to captivating alternative music. SHARPE Select offers a concentrated musical experience within a single evening, reflecting the spirit of the Bratislava-based SHARPE festival and bringing to Prague some of the most interesting acts currently resonating across the European scene — new discoveries, emerging talents and bands you will definitely hear more about.

Meowlau (SK) Slovak musician Laura Jašková, known from the band Billy Barman and the project Meowlau x Val, presents her solo work under the name Meowlau. Her debut album Kvety (2026), created in collaboration with producer Matej Turcer, brings personal songs balancing indie, post-punk and alternative pop. On stage she performs with a band and is considered one of the most exciting new names on the contemporary Slovak music scene.

Sara Zozaya (ES) Basque singer and songwriter from San Sebastián Sara Zozaya is one of the distinctive voices of today’s Spanish independent scene. Her songs combine fragile vocals, subtle electronics and atmospheric arrangements, creating a dreamy and intimate sonic landscape. Her live performances blend minimalist sound with carefully crafted visuals. The concert partner is Instituto Cervantes.

AGGRASOPPAR (FO) The trio from the Faroe Islands represents one of the most intriguing new discoveries from the Nordic music scene. Eyðfinn B. Lamhauge, Dania O. Tausen and Trygvi Danielsen combine expressive vocals, electronics and an experimental approach to pop structures. Following the EPs døgurðaslang and MIDNÁTTARSANG, the band received nominations at the Faroese Music Awards and has performed at a number of European festivals.

Laikka (AT) The Austrian project Laikka brings emotionally charged alternative pop built on strong melodies, synthesizers and carefully shaped sound design. Their songs combine pop sensibility with club electronics and more experimental production. The albums Morning Glow and Bleach brought them attention from the European alternative scene as well as a nomination for the Amadeus Austrian Music Awards.

MonoPlastic (SK) The Slovak duo MonoPlastic creates a darker electronic art-rock sound built around synthesizers, post-punk guitars and drum machine rhythms. Their music is characterized by hypnotic grooves, prominent bass lines and gradually layered sound structures.

Humming People (AT) The Austrian duo Humming People builds its music on simple rhythms, synthesizers and vocal work. Small musical motifs gradually evolve into hypnotic compositions that can feel both meditative and danceable at the same time.

Ki Klop (HR) The Zagreb-based trio Ki Klop delivers an explosive burst of energy that rarely leaves anyone standing still. Their music blends disco grooves, hypnotic guitar lines and pulsating rhythms into an irresistibly danceable sound. Originally formed as a duo, the project transformed into a full-fledged live band with the arrival of drummer and vocalist Laura Tandarić. Their dynamic and slightly theatrical live shows easily pull audiences into their sonic universe.

The event is organised with the support of the Liveurope initiative – the first pan-European platform supporting concert venues in their efforts to present emerging European artists. Liveurope is co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union.
