Jef and Marica find themselves constrained by their differences — in how they
think, how they see the world, and how they move. Their duo seems unable to find
common ground. Too different to align, too connected to ignore.
At the centre of this pair is a metal wheel — both a dividing line and a
meeting point. It becomes a place of exchange and transformation. Through it,
they learn to communicate, to fall together, and to rise again. Their bodies
search for a language without grammar, giving life to an intense physical
dialogue that is both metaphorical and abstract, where the encounter between
differences becomes their creative force. cirkopolis.cz
What does it mean to be two without merging? Can we coexist without
compromise, without fusion, without hierarchy? In difference does not offer an
answer. It performs it. cirkopolis.cz
Company presentation:
Marica and Jef met in 2018, united by a shared fascination for research with
the wheel, even though each approached it differently. Over the years, their
paths developed in distinct ways, but their common passion led them to explore
two different sides of the same discipline. They were inspired by their
diversity and the ways they could enrich each other — through approach, body,
and cultural background. In 2022, they reunited with the desire to develop a
project together in which their research interests around the wheel would have a
central place. Thus they initiated their first show as co-creators.
