The author of the photography Milan Janata was born on 26.9.1950 in Prague. After graduating from high school in 1969 he begins to study the postgraduate subject – repoduction graphic design at Polygrafie. He becomes a member of a photography club in Žižkov and in this period intensely meddles in the beginnings of his works. In this period he participates in many group exhibitions. Later he curates his own exhibition and following it other solo exhibitions.

His creative development is finally completed with a degree at FAMU- department of photography, guided in this period by the irreplaceable and accomplished professor J. Šmok. The collection of photographs presented by Milan Janata in 2000 at Akropolis completed his return to the symbolic-surrealistic period. Professionally, the author devotes himself to arranging commercial photography. He currently collaborates primarily with prominent Czech creators of class and porcelain, for example Bohemia Crystalex Trading and Thun.
