Luboš Soukup's quartet plays original contemporary jazz based on the band leader's distinctive compositions. The compositions are inspired by jazz greats such as Wayne Shorter, Charles Lloyd, Joe Henderson, etc., as well as other musical genres. The Czech saxophonist collaborates with top Czech musicians such as pianist Vít Křišťan, double bassist Jaromír Honzák and drummer Marek Urbánek. Their distinctive sound and approach to music creates a unique combination and the result is captivatingly colourful music.

The band has 3 albums to its credit. The debut album Beyond the Boarders was released in 2012. A year later came Through the Mirror, which features a six-piece brass section and string quartet along with the quartet. The latest album for now is called Earth and features a guest appearance by Benin-based guitarist Lionel Loueke. The last two albums were selected in the Czech Radio Experts' Poll for the best jazz albums of the year (2013 and 2017).
