info Views – Vladimír Kovařík Foyer: 1. 11. 2010 – 30. 11. 2010 A photographic cycle conceived in a conceptual way by Vladimír Kovařík (born in 1965) answers the question what is a person´s relationship to the place where he lives and which he considers his home. This is a part of the obviosity of nowadays world where one is always changing place under the relentless dictate of mobility. Whether we do it for personal or work related reasons, we constantly compare the visited places with our base, initial point, which we sooner or later come back to. Home of course consists of physical things, which we surround ourselves with and at the same time it is full of memories and emotions that we carry with us to our travels in our baggage. We will not see physical objects, memories nor emotions at the exhibition. We will see only cut outs from visited places where Kovařík followed the needle of his inner compass and he aimed his sight and digital camera in home direction. Then he completed the photographs with coordinates which exactly describe the place where the view was observed and shutter release was pressed. If you have a data tarif and aplication Maps in your cell phone, you can discover the concrete geographical names directly in the galery. But it won´t be the most important moment for understanding of the relationship between a person and his base. |
