info Pavel Vane and Progres 2 Pavel Váně is a guitarist, composer, arranger and music producer and one of the greatest legends of the Brno music scene. His first rock band was an amateur outfit called Beatmongers, founded in 1963. In 1966 he became a member of the band Synkopy 61, where he remained for two years and enjoyed great popularity as a singer, for example with the song “Láska je vůl” (Love is an Ass). In 1969, Progress Organization (later Progres 2) was founded. The successful band fell victim to the onset of normalization. Pavel Váně was then active in the Slovak band Collegium Musicum and collaborated with Bob Frídl’s band. At the end of 1970s Progress Organization was reborn as Progres 2. In 1981 Pavel Váně founded his own band, Bronz. Besides Bronz, the 1980s saw him play with the acoustic folk rock band VKV (Váně – Kopřiva – Vondrák). Last year Váně turned 60 and he continues to play occasionally at concerts of Progres 2, Bronz or VKV. He also records music in his home studio. |
