info 14th international fine-art symposium TRANFORMATION 30th September to 31st October, 2012 Eleven Czech artists met in July in the Czech village Zubrnice on the traditional international symposium organised by the citizens organisation SUKUS. The Artists from the Czech Republic and Germany return here annually to create in one week a work of art on a mutual theme. An artist usually works in isolation during the year, alone only with his doubts about his work. That’s why everyone welcomes this opportunity to live one week among their colleagues – working and debating together. This was the 14th Symposium Labe-Elbe. The project began as a shy attempt to get to know people from different countries. The idea was supported by the Czech-German Fund for The Future and also thanks to it the Symposium has run for several years already. Along the years the relationships between the Czech Republic and Germany changed as changed also the Europe and the whole world. That is why the chosen theme for this year was “Transformation”. This global theme has many angles and surfaces – each artist has though the possibility to express him or herself as they like it and contribute thus to the variety of the final exhibition. Diversity is given also thanks to variety of artists working with different materials, techniques and focusing on diverse disciplines. This year participated these fine-artists Dagmar Čechová, Alžběta Müller, Vlasta Rydlová, Olga Soldánová and Jiří Váp, sculpturers Kalle Lind and Norbert Sötz and photographers Vladimír Murtin, Herbert Ristl, Pavel Rydl and Alena Zíková. Palác Akropolis is also the traditional symposium partner where the exhibition of the works from the international symposium takes place from 30rd September to 31st October, 2012. Pavel Rydl |
