With sales over 10 million CDs, Deep Forest proved that world music is not a „minority genre“. Their first album transformed traditional songs from a number of African regions into universal anthems using modern technology – and included the classic Sweet Lullaby, which became a worldwide hit. Their next album, Boheme, a celebration of Central European folklore won a 1995 World Music Grammy. They participated in music for dozens of films, including The Isle of Dr. Moreau or cyberpunk sci-fi Strange Days directed by Kathryn Bigelow. Their albums look like Who's Who on global music scene, featuring as guest musicians such renowned artists as Peter Gabriel, Vernon Reid, Iarla Ó Lionáird, Youssou N'Dour, Neneh Cherry and the Hungarian singer Marta Sebestyen. As a celebration of their 20th anniversary, they launch their brand new album Deep Africa in early 2013, and return to world stages in full force.
