info I find Ivo Pospíšil very interesting and a communicative man, a versatile artist who cares about his presentation on outside and also on the visual side. It is a great honour to know him personally. I met him when he has been playing in the legendary music group Garáž but currently he is a rather awesome DJ, oldschool Tea Jay Ivo. Except for playing at cultural and social events together with his colleague and a friend Vladimír Jurásek they also do sound design – they prepare music and sounds for various settings and many occasions. Their collections of invitation cards they create for their music events, is impressive and it consists of many kinds of inspirations and used materials – from pin-up girls from 50ties, over pop art and art photography, to comic books including Japanese Manga. They invest much time into an original graphics of the invitation cards which reflects even the wild attitude to the whole impression. With the invitation cards they like to provoke the audience a little and they often bring even a shocking humour. All the more reason to enjoy the collection right on the exhibition. Ivo and Vladimir are finishing a book “Příliš pozdě zemřít mladý” (Too late to die young) with Ivo´s memories on underground, life in totality and after it. All this is written in the same spirit as the exhibited invitation cards. Look forward to the event with me. Martin Fryč, fine art and exhibition publicist |
